What Are Eco-Friendly Fabrics?The use of eco-friendly fabrics is increasingly popular. Consumers just like you care about using healthier products and protecting their environment. You don’t have to be an environmentalist to appreciate natural fabrics. Some people are more comfortable with non-chemically treated materials. Others may have kids or an elderly family member who may have allergies, and therefore prefer natural fabrics in their homes. Eco-friendly fabrics are also a smart choice for those with asthma or respiratory concerns.Eco-friendly fabrics are available in a variety of materials, styles, colors and patterns:
100% Certified Organic Cotton is a biodegradable and a renewable resource. These fabrics are some of the longest lasting fabrics you can buy! The cotton used for these fabrics was grown in fields that were not chemically treated or sprayed with pesticides, fertilizers, or harmful substances for three or more consecutive years.
FORTREL EcoSpun is a fiber made from plastic containers
Hessian Cloth is a coarse woven fabric made from jute or hemp.
Ingeo is a trademark for a man-made fiber derived from corn.
Jute is similar to hemp, and is a type of vegetable fiber.
Milk Silk is silk made from milk.
Muslin is a fabric made from unbleached cotton.
Organic Linen is linen that is made from flax fiber. Could also refer to linen that is made from other organically grown plant fibers.
