In 1984 Rene Cazares began making furniture one piece at a time in his small studio in El Monte, CA. His single-minded focus was to design and build furniture which excelled in quality, all the while creating a reputation of absolute dedication to customer service.  Today the location has changed but Rene’s promise of quality, detail, value and service is still apparent in every piece of furniture produced.

Allan H. Palecek was born and raised in Kansas.  A strong connection to nature and agriculture was inevitable in his rural youth, laying the groundwork for his environmental awareness and respect.  In his travels across the globe, he was repeatedly drawn to native, woven handicrafts.   Regardless of the culture or country, there was a global connection that emerged:  exquisite, local, sustainable materials were the connection throughout their organic designs. 

Thirty years ago, Palecek began as a basket company in the San Francisco Bay Area.  The expertly woven baskets drew steady admirers, which grew into loyal customers, and an expanding product line. 

Palecek’s ability to mix and weave natural fibers into unique statement pieces has been Palecek’s distinction for years.  In addition to our signature rattan and wicker, we’ve created extraordinary collections featuring hard wood, seagrass and abaca weaves.  The result of this innovative styling is a collection of pieces that suit any setting.
